Tactical Canine Solutions offers training in K9 Obedience & Urban Agility, Criminal Apprehension including multiple subjects, redirected attacks, call -off engaged dog, Tactical K9 Deployment Handler Safety K9, Handler Protection, Building Searches, Area Searches, Scent Discrimination.
Our Police K9 Patrol and Decoy seminars can be conducted at your department, County Training facility or at our facility. Both seminars consist of five working day and 40 hours of instruction. 10 Canine Teams and Supervisers may attend.
Police K-9 Patrol Seminar
The police K9 Patrol Seminar covers the theory behind protection work from a training perspective and deployment perspective and discuss the various venues for protection work, police service vs personal protection vs bite-sports and how they differ in theory and practice. We will discuss why most sport dogs are NOT reliable street dogs.
We will learn how to establish a behavioral baseline for a given dog based upon his genetics. We will cover the foundation such as proper drive development, drive control and mind state. Basic protection skills such as guarding, out and redirecting bites.
Example of BAD K9 Engagement and Commitment. In real Life this officer could have been killed. This dog was a sport dog and should not have been used.
Police K-9 Decoy Seminar
The Police K9 Decoy Seminar covers the theory behind protection work from a training perspective and deployment perspective and discuss the various venues for protections work, police service vs personal protection vs bite-sports and how they differ in theory and practice. We will discuss why most sport dogs are NOT reliable street dogs.
This seminar is a purely practical education for the Police Decoy. We will introduce the equipment used in protection work, common safety measures, and the general “do’s and don’ts” in police decoy work. We will cover the mechanics of working a protection dog with both the sleeve and the bite suit, proper targeting, techniques for working both upper and lower body dogs, and the differences between the various protection venues as it relates to Police decoy work. We will also cover, in detail, the physical techniques for improving a dog’s protection work. Each Police Decoy seminar participant is encouraged to bring a dog that can do some protection work but it is not necessary.
